3-Line Poems

Writing a Poem

The words coming to my mind fulfilling my head.
They want to jump out and spread.
And in the end they have chosen my pen.

A Sound

All through life a sound is heard.
Never caring where it's heard.
It comes and it goes with the blow of the wind.

Opened Envelope

One day a present in an envelope,
inviting me to a balloon flight.
Ironically, the balloon envelope just wasn't tight.
The Drawing

Started from a blank white canvas.
The image clear in my mind.
Now to let the pencil start by creating a line.

Blue

Blue doesn't always mean blue.
It sometimes seems like a glue,
pulling you down into the gloom.

An Overheated Brain

So many ideas running in your head,
during all of these hot days.
The mind isn't able to process.

Jokes

Once there was a Mum and a daughter having a discussion. The Mum said: “I saw you in the City kissing a man in uniform. Was it a policeman or a soldier?“ Asked the Mum. The daughter replied with a smile: “Was it at 10 or at 11?“

There was a medical student who was having a talk with his friend. The friend asked him: “You have been studying for 10 years at the university already. Why are you studying for so long?” “That’s easy.” replied the medical student. “Patients don’t like very young doctors.”

Two people are standing on two different banks of the river. One is shouting to the other: “Come to the opposite side.” The second one is replying: “But I am already on the opposite side.”

Short Stories

COMPETITIVE

There was a family with three children. The two youngest children were at home when their father received an MMS from his cousin with a picture of a newborn baby. He sent a congratulation message to the happy parents. It was their second child.

After that the recipient of the MMS wanted to show the picture of the baby to his children, but before opening the image on his mobile phone, he announced the happy news to his children with these words: “Children, I have some good news, you have a new second cousin.”

However, the good news announcer was quite surprised after receiving a question from his six years old son: “Are we still leading?“  He replied by showing the picture, smiling and saying: “Yes, we have three children. But they are getting closer…”

NICE GLASSES

Two girls were spending a lot of time together not only because of the  fact that they were relatives, but they were also approximately of the same age and were sharing common interests like sports, mobile phone applications, watching movies, shopping and so on. They were practically best friends.

One day, one of these girls received an invitation for a preventive medical examination at the ophthalmologist’s. After the medical examination it turned out, that the girl would have to wear glasses. So she went to the optician with her Mum and they bought new glasses for the girl.

All her friends admired the glasses, because they were fitting the girl’s face perfectly and she was looking good when wearing them. The second girl was also admiring this new fashion accessory of her best friend.

Soon afterwards, the second girl started to pretend headache and dizziness. She was also claiming vision problems when reading books. She was also claiming that she could not read even big letters. This seemed like a sudden and unexpected  problem to her parents, so they were consulting this problem with another doctor and have arranged a medical examination at the ophthalmologist’s.

The visit was arranged some days later, so the parents had an opportunity to observe their daughter meanwhile. They were testing their daughter by asking the girl to read texts in their mobile phone menus, SMS messages, TV set menu, TV set archive and so on. Every secret test performed by the parents was with a good result. The girl could read the text without any mistakes or difficulties. She did not reveal that her parents had been testing her sight in a hidden way.

Finally, the day of medical examination at the ophthalmologist’s came. The girl was able to read small letters, but could not read big letters, which seemed curious to the ophthalmologist, so she used dioptric glasses but also non-dioptric glasses for examination. Of course the girl did not know this and was reading correctly with dioptric as well as with non-dioptric glasses. The result was that the girl did not get any glasses.

Later that day, the two girls were having a conversation. One girl said to the other:  “You stupid, you should have had problems only with reading of small letters, not from the very beginning of the test, where there were big letters.” When hearing this, the parents understood immediately that there must have been a secret agreement between the girls.

The story was not over yet. Some days later, the Grandma of the family saw the brother of the girl with glasses standing in front of a mirror trying out the glasses and saying to himself: “Hmm, nice glasses. I might start having some sight problems.” Of course the Grandma told this to the parents. The children were having the same ophthalmologist, so she was already pre-prepared when the boy came for examination.
